I made Zepto & Instamart compete with each other from my Telegram using Claude

So, I made Zepto & Instamart compete with each other from my Telegram using Claude.

Last week, I set up an automation using Claude Code Routines that ordered milk for me daily. It is working great. Kudos to team Zepto for this MCP

Today, I came across official Swiggy MCPs. Coincidentally, I had to order Bicycle playing cards (I just love the quality of the cards). Of course, I wanted to compare prices in both Zepto and Instamart, and I can use the apps on my mobile phone to:

  • Manually search for the item.
  • Manually add it to the cart.
  • Manually proceed to checkout to find the final price.
  • And then switch to another app, follow the same steps, and compare in my mind.

But now I know both these MCPs exist (I wish the official Blinkit MCP also existed), I planned to use Claude to achieve this.

A few days ago, Claude officially announced its channels, and Telegram is one of them. I already had my Claude Code connected to that. Context: This Claude code session runs 24/7 on one of my machines.

So, the steps were simpler for me. I sent the following message to my Claude Bot (yes, no copyright issues because it communicates directly with Claude Code):

I want to order Bicycle Classic Cards delivered to my “MCP Location”. Compare prices across Instamart and Zepto. No brand preference, find the cheapest available option for each item. Then add the cheapest options to the cart on all platforms and fetch the actual bill breakdown, including item subtotal, delivery fee, handling fee, platform/surge fees, and total. Show everything in a single comparison table. Make sure to clear the cart first.

And… I waited.

Here’s the actual, complete conversation:

Conversation on Telegram between Claude and me comparing prices on Zepto & Instamart and placing the order.

Prices compared. Order placed. I received it in around 10 minutes. All from two messages I sent to my bot in Telegram:

Pack of Bicycle cards in my hand.

I would also like to mention an Unofficial Blinkit MCP by Swapnil Singh. It is a great workaround, and I have used it. I didn’t use it in this example for one reason: it couldn’t use Blinkit Money. Only cash on delivery and UPI are supported. I didn’t want to do anything beyond Telegram in this example. I even tried forking it and updating the code, but it didn’t help.

Now I know many people would still say simply use your time and switch between apps to find a better price, and that is okay. As I mentioned, I wanted to compare and order products without leaving my Telegram chat.
