[UPDATED] Accomodation Details and Conference Programme

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

The Indian Liquid Crystal Society (ILCS) was established in the year 1992 under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act 1960. Now ILCS has become a prestigious scientific society of India and it consists of more than 350 life members along with many annually subscribing institutional and student members. The Annual General Meetings of the ILCS and ILCS conferences give platform to the researchers, scientists and technologist to interact and discuss the scientific and technological advancement in their concerned areas and various related disciplines. National Conference on Liquid Crystals is held annually under the auspices of Indian Liquid Crystals Society in different parts of the country. In the last seven years, conferences were hosted by several premier institutions in India Viz.

-Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (2008)
-Lucknow University, Lucknow (2009)
-Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat (2010)
-NERIST, Itanagar (2011)
-Thapar University, Patiala (2012)
-Manipal University, Manipal (2013)
-VSSD College, Kanpur (2014)

These conferences have contributed nationally to the advancement of soft matter research namely liquid crystal, display technologies, optics and photonics, synthetic chemistry, chiral systems, colloids & interfaces, polymeric systems, nanocolloids, monolayer and biological systems. This year 22nd National Conference on Liquid Crystals (NCLC-2015) is being organized by Department of Physics, DIT University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand to be held on December 21-23, 2015. This conference will provide a platform to the scientist, academicians, and young researchers to exchange their new ideas and explore emerging directions both in basic science as well as key technologies. This event will bring theoreticians, experimentalists and technologists under one umbrella to inspire exciting research in the current aspects of liquid crystals and soft matter science. This event will also foster inter-disciplinary research in all concerned areas of physics, chemistry, biology, medical science and engineering. The other objective of this conference is also to provide a common platform to the researchers of the academic institutions, universities and the industrial R&D laboratories to strengthen their interaction through national and international collaboration and exchange programme. This conference is our sincere effort to interact with our technological counter parts because the liquid crystals and soft matter science share a close relation with various display and photonic devices, optical instrumentations, X-ray crystallography techniques, thermo dynamics, polarizing, scanning, tunneling and atomic force microscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, nanotechnology, dielectric and magnetic measurements, capacitors, memory devices, molecular depositions, etc.
